Officers were called to a report of a vehicle colliding with a building on Lombard Street at around midnight on Wednesday 24 September.
Police said that the driver failed the roadside breath test.
He was arrested and taken to Mansfield Police Station.
A spokesperson said:
‘This is another stark reminder of the consequences of driving whilst under the influence of alcohol, luckily on this occasion there were no innocent members of the public involved.
‘Another drink driver during the week was arrested following a minor RTC.
‘After failing to provide at the roadside, they subsequently provided a reading of 166ug/100ml at the station, nearly five times the legal limit.
‘They remain on bail whilst officers carry out their investigation into the incident.’
