Suspects ‘caught red-handed’ ready to syphon fuel from HGV on A57

On the 14 October Officers from Nottinghamshire Police roads unit with assistance from beat team and response officers from Worksop spotted the vehicle on the A57.

Police said:

‘The driver was caught red-handed attempting to steal fuel.

‘Due to the excellent spot by police officers the offenders hadn’t been able to steal any fuel but were setting up ready to start syphoning.

‘The driver instead of sipping fuel for the night was sipping water provided in his cell.

‘By parking at secure sites, it makes your night safer and makes it harder for them to steal your fuel.’
