Teachers’ strike will affect several West Bridgford and Notts schools

The National Education Union (NEU) will be taking part in planned industrial action on Wednesday 1 February 2023.

As a result, this will affect several schools in Nottinghamshire, meaning some schools may need to close or partially close.

Schools have been advised by the Department for Education to communicate decisions to parents and staff and give as much notice as possible in these circumstances.

Planned dates of industrial action in Nottinghamshire:

  • Wednesday 1 February 2023
  • Wednesday 1 March 2023
  • Wednesday 15 March 2023
  • Thursday 16 March 2023

The below schools have published information….

West Bridgford Junior School

A reminder NEU members are striking on 1st February. This means that the following classes will be closed to all pupils:

– Year 3, Class 2 will be closed.
– Year 4, Class 4 and Class 6 will be closed. – Year 5, Class 7 will be closed.
– Year 6, Class 10 will be closed.

Lady Bay Primary School

NEU Teachers Union Strike Day – classes FG, 2W, 3HS and 3K will be closed for the day, school remains open for all other pupils

The Becket School

Wednesday 1st February 2023 the proposal will be as follows:

• Year groups in school will be year 7, year 11 and 6th form
• Year groups working from home, year 8, year 9 and year 10 Information for Year 7, year 11 and the 6th form.
