A teenage boy was arrested after threatening another youth during a knife-point robbery.
The 16-year-old was arrested after an incident yesterday (Saturday) afternoon when another boy had his phone and trainers taken from him.
The incident took place at Victoria Embankment Meadows shortly after 7.45pm.
Nobody was injured and the arrested boy remains in police custody.
Detective Sergeant Andrew Buxton, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We take all reports of knife crime extremely seriously and work hard throughout the year to dissuade people from carrying weapons in public.
“Once you take knife out onto the street it takes only a single moment to cause death or serious injury to someone – irrevocably changing your own life in the process.
“Thankfully in this case nobody was injured but things clearly could have turned out a lot worse for everyone involved.”
