Two teenagers were arrested minutes after a burglary was reported in the early hours of this morning.
A woman called 999 after finding someone in her kitchen shortly before 1am.
The individual ran out the back with a second person and they both fled the property, in Colleymoor Leys Lane, Clifton.
The caller provided a description and response officers immediately began a search.
A few minutes later, the officers spotted two youths matching the description who were running away from the area.
Following a brief pursuit, two boys aged 14 and 16 were arrested on suspicion of burglary with intent to steal.
They remain in custody for questioning.
Inspector Andy Wilson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Burglary is an upsetting crime, especially when victims come face-to-face with alleged offenders. When incidents like this happen we will always act swiftly and work hard to find those responsible.
“I hope the speed of these arrests provides some reassurance to the local community and demonstrates how seriously we treat reports of burglary which can have a long-lasting impact on victims. We will always do everything we can to investigate, pursue and catch suspects, and keep the public safe from harm.”
