Teenager arrested after man stabbed in the back in Notts assault

Officers have made an arrest after a man was stabbed in the back in the early hours of this morning in Langold.

The man suffered a puncture wound and was taken to Doncaster A&E for treatment. His injuries aren’t believed to be life-altering.

Officers were contacted by EMAS at around 1.15 am on 5 May 2020 on Doncaster Road.

Detective Inspector Kim Binns is leading the investigation. She said: “Thankfully it appears the victim hasn’t suffered life-changing injuries.

“We are pleased we have made a quick arrest in relation to the incident.

“Officers remain in the area and we are speaking to the local community to offer reassurance. We believe this is an isolated incident and both men were known to each other.

“We are still appealing for witnesses and information which will help us with the investigation. If you saw anything suspicious or have any details that could help please call 101 quoting incident number 36 of 5 May 2020.

A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of GBH and he remains in police custody.
