A 17-year-old boy is in custody after a police officer was punched in the mouth.
The officer was assaulted after she had stopped a driver in Radford Road, Nottingham at around 1.45 am this morning (Sunday 22 March 2020) after their car failed to move off at traffic lights.
A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of police assault, driving without a license and taking a vehicle without consent. He remains in police custody.
Inspector Amy English said: “An officer being assaulted in the line of duty is completely unacceptable. We continue to investigate this incident robustly to ensure those responsible are held to account for their actions.”
