Teenager arrested after stabbing in Aspley, Nottingham

A teenager has been arrested after a boy was stabbed.

Police were called to Bells Lane, Aspley, shortly before 9.55 pm last night (Thursday 22 June) to reports of a stabbing.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and remains in custody while a thorough investigation continues.

The victim aged 16, remains in hospital with potentially life-altering injuries.

Detective Chief Inspector Ruby Burrow, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Thanks to quick work by our response officers we arrested a suspect shortly after the incident took place.

“I understand the worry and concern this incident may bring to people in the community, but I want to reassure you that we do believe this to be an isolated incident.

“We are carrying out a full investigation into what’s happened, but I want to ask anyone who may have any information on what happened or saw anything to please get in touch.”

Anyone who was in the area at the time or has any dashcam or mobile phone footage is asked to call 101, quoting incident number 823 of 22 June 2023, or make an anonymous report to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
