Teenager charged after emergency worker bitten on the arm

A man has been charged after he reportedly bit the arm of a police officer whilst he was being detained.

The charges relate to an domestic incident on Sunday evening where officers were called to Heddington Gardens in Arnold.

A Nottinghamshire Police officer was bitten on his right arm as he tried to detain a man.

Police Sergeant Neil Langham is leading the investigation. He said: “This kind of disgusting behaviour will not be tolerated in any shape or form and especially not now in the current climate.

“We will have no hesitation in bringing action against anyone engaging in this kind of behaviour.”

James Valentine, 19, from Arnold has been charged with assaulting an emergency worker has been remanded into custody to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today (24 November 2020).
