Teenager punched and kicked in bike robbery at Holme Pierrepont

A stolen bike was recovered and a suspect arrested after police were called to an assault.

It was reported a teenage boy was pushed off his bike, before being punched and then kicked whilst lying on the ground.

The offender then allegedly stole his bike and raced away from the scene.

Local officers quickly arrived, located a suspect and recovered the bike at around 7.30pm last night at Holme Pierrepont in West Bridgford.

A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and remains in police custody for questioning.

Detective Sergeant Lauren Morgan of Nottinghamshire Police is leading the investigation. She said: “This was excellent quick work by officers who managed to track down the offender and seize the bike.

“We were called after a group of teenagers were allegedly pushing the teenager around.

“This must have been a terrifying ordeal for him. He suffered minor injuries to his face and was treated at the scene.

“Officers were quickly at the scene to spot a bike matching the description on Adbolton Lane.

“Nottinghamshire Police takes all theft offences extremely seriously and will always respond quickly when offences are in progress. I am delighted that on this occasion we were able to return this bike to its rightful owner.”
