Teenagers arrested after attempted street robbery

Police have arrested two teenagers following an attempted street robbery.

Two people were reported to have jumped on and kicked a car before punching the driver.

The victim suffered bruising around the eye following the incident in Sneinton Dale, Sneinton, at around 7.45pm yesterday (Saturday 23 April).

Following an investigation by Nottinghamshire Police, officers arrested an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of attempted robbery. They remain in custody.

Detective Sergeant Alana Scott, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Swift action has led to two arrests and we are now examining CCTV and speaking to witnesses, as well as the two suspects.

“Robbery is a serious offence and one that Nottinghamshire Police treats as such. We have two dedicated robbery teams whose sole focus is dealing with robberies and who have helped drive down offending of this nature in Nottinghamshire.

“We would still like to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident to contact us on 101, quoting incident number 715 of 23 April 2022.”
