Teenagers charged with University Park burglary

Two teenagers have been charged in connection with a burglary in Nottingham, after a positive response to a Nottinghamshire Police media witness appeal.

Police issued this appeal, which included CCTV footage featuring two men we wanted to speak to, following a report of a suspected burglary on University Park, near Beeston Lane, on Sunday 9 September 2018.

Police said:

‘Two members of the public who saw our appeal on Facebook rang in and identified one of the men. From this we were able to find out who the second man was.

‘A 16-year-old boy, who can’t be named for legal reasons, was subsequently charged with two counts of burglary and one count of theft.

‘He pleaded guilty to the offences at his first court hearing and was remanded into secure youth detention. He is next set to appear for sentencing at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on 28 November 2018.

‘A 17-year-old boy, who can’t be named for legal reasons, was charged on Friday (16 November 2018) with one count of burglary and one count of theft.

‘He was granted conditional bail to appear at Nottingham Youth Court on 28 November 2018.

‘We’d like to thank all those who shared our appeal and those who came forward with information after it was issued.’
