These major road resurfacing works planned for October in Nottinghamshire

More than 30 major resurfacing, patching and street lighting schemes are planned across Nottinghamshire during October.

The works form part of Nottinghamshire County Council’s £181.25 million Highway Capital Maintenance Programme, being delivered with highways partner Via East Midlands.

The council said that six months into the programme, it has already completed more highway improvement schemes than during the whole of the previous year.

Major resurfacing schemes planned for October include:

  • A60 Mansfield Road and Church Street, Market Warsop
  • A617/A6191 Chesterfield Road North and Pleasley Hill Way junction, Mansfield
  • Both carriageways of the A57 Worksop Bypass
  • A634 Sheffield Road, Blyth
  • A638 London Road, Retford
  • A614 Bawtry Road, Bircotes
  • A60 Mansfield Road and Killisick Road, Arnold
  • A60 Loughborough Road and Mere Way roundabout, Rushcliffe

Machine-laid patching is also due to take place on the A60 Leeming Lane North in Mansfield Woodhouse, A57 Worksop Bypass, A6002 Woodhouse Way in Nuthall, A1133 Besthorpe Road in Collingham and A6075 Tuxford Road and Cocking Hill in Boughton and Kirton.

Street lighting columns are scheduled to be replaced on Export Drive in Sutton-in-Ashfield, Southwell Road West in Mansfield and Bramcote Drive in Beeston.

More than 200 roads receiving preventative treatment

Alongside the larger schemes, more than 200 sites across Nottinghamshire are being treated through the council’s surface dressing and micro asphalt programmes.

The 2026 surface dressing programme has now finished for the season. The council said any sites that could not be completed this year will be prioritised at the earliest
