The toilets operate on a 20p per use vend system which then unlocks the doors to allow entry.

The owner of Al Fresco said: ‘The actual slots have been ripped from the wall and it must have taken quite a long time and I’m sure someone must have seen what was happening.’

At the scene the toilets are cordoned off with tape and barriers and are unusable for safety reasons until further notice.

The ‘vend’ machines have been completed forced out of the brickwork and any cash that may have been in them stolen.

Each morning Streetwise Environmental open upon the toilets, and hose the entire interior down ready for the next day’s usage.
