Two people have been arrested after alcohol was taken during a break-in at a pub.
Police were called to the Gamston Lock in Radcliffe Road, Gamston, after the alarm was activated at around 1.30am on Wednesday (29 December 2021).
A night porter reportedly saw a man running from the scene after finding the lights on and a window smashed.
Hundreds of pounds worth of alcohol, including vodka and whiskey, were found to have been taken.
Officers conducted a number of enquiries, including CCTV and searches of the local area and arrested a man, aged 48, and a woman, aged 39, on suspicion of burglary.
Neighbourhood Policing Inspector for Rushcliffe Rob Lawton said: “Officers worked very quickly to conduct enquiries following this incident and were able to locate two suspects, who remain in custody.
“Local businesses are imperative to the community and so it is absolutely appalling to hear when they have been targeted. As well as this, the festive season is a busy and important time for them so incidents like this will have a significant impact on them.
“These efforts and the action taken to locate the suspects just goes to show how seriously we take this type of crime. Officers in the area also continue to work proactively to engage with the community and offer support.
“We continue to make enquiries and would ask anyone with information to get in touch on 101, quoting incident 39 of 29 December 2021.”
