Third man arrested following reports of gunshots in Aspley

Nottinghamshire Police have arrested a third man in connection with a firearms discharge in Aspley yesterday (Thursday 13 December 2018).

A 36-year-old man was arrested last night on suspicion of possession of a firearm without a certificate and possession of a Class A drug after officers carried out a search of a property in Amersham Rise, Aspley.

It follows the arrests of two men yesterday on suspicion of possession of a firearm following a report of gunshots in Aspley. They remain in police custody.

Armed officers were quickly on the scene after the incident in Minver Crescent at 12.15pm yesterday. There are no reports of injuries.

Notts Police’s enquiries are ongoing and officers are continuing to patrol the area to provide reassurance.
