Three people have been arrested in connection with an assault which has left a man with serious injuries in hospital.
Officers from Nottinghamshire Police were informed by colleagues at the East Midlands Ambulance Service that a 19-year-old man had suffered a serious wound in Belper Road, Radford at around 3.10pm today.
Response officers carried out quick enquiries and two men, aged 19 and 21, and a 16-year-old boy were arrested nearby on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. They remain in custody.
Detective Inspector Claire Gould, of Nottinghamshire’s criminal investigation department, said: “The victim has serious injuries and is currently being treated in hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
“Quick enquiries in the area led to three men being arrested around 40 minutes after the incident was reported to us.
“We believe that those involved are known to each other and there is no threat to the wider public.
“We continue the investigation and my team will be doing this around the clock while the suspects remain in custody.
“Members of the public can expect to see an increased police presence and we may be speaking to them as we carry out our door-to-door enquiries.
