Three arrests after street fight in Arboretum where bottles were thrown

Three men have been arrested following reports of a fight in a city street.
Officers quickly attended Belvedere Avenue, the Arboretum, after receiving reports of a group arguing and throwing bottles.

When they arrived, a man is understood to have been spooked after spotting the police and attempted to run away.

Having detained the man shortly after 11pm on Wednesday night (22 June) officers were then made aware of another group of men close by all running off.

Thanks to their quick-thinking actions, two further men were arrested only minutes later.
One man, aged 24, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article in a public place.

Two further men, aged 22 and 24, were also arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of class A drugs.
