Three charged after alleged Nottingham firearms discharge

Three people have been charged with offences, following the discharge of a firearm in Hyson Green earlier this week.

The incident, which was reported to Nottinghamshire Police just after 8pm on Tuesday 21 August, took place in the Oldknow Street area. No-one is believed to have been injured during the incident.

Savannah McDevitt, 20, of Nottingham, and Sarah Burgess, 28, of Mansfield, have both been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

A 17-year old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with the same offence. All three have also been charged with theft in connection with an incident on 21 August 2018.

McDevitt has also been charged with possession with intent to supply cocaine, heroin and possession of ammunition.

All three were remanded to appear at Nottingham Magistrates Court on Saturday 25 August.

Officers are continuing to carry out high-visibility patrols of the Hyson Green and St Ann’s areas of the city, in order to help reassure the local community following the incident.
