Fire crews are at the scene of a fire on Albert Road in West Bridgford.

A National Grid Electricity Distribution spokesperson told The Wire: “A small electrical fire has been extinguished at one of our substation kiosks near West Bridgford.
“We’d like to thank the local community for bearing with us as our teams work to restore supplies as quickly and safely as possible to around 200 customers affected.”
Update 4:48 pm: This fire has now been dealt with from a fire service perspective. Unfortunately we do expect a couple of hundred homes in the local area will be without power for the next couple of hours, whilst National Grid work to restore it.’
The incident has affected power to around 206 homes and businesses in the area.
National Grid expect the power to be restored by around 9 pm.
Residents are advised to avoid the area and keep windows and doors closed.

The power has been isolated for safety reasons because of the fire.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said at 4:08 pm on Sunday 23 March:
‘We’ve currently got three fire engines at a small electrical substation fire on Albert Road, West Bridgford.
Please avoid the area and if you live nearby, keep windows and doors closed to avoid the smoke ‘plume.’
