The incident happened at around midnight on Friday.
Three lanes on the motorway were closed to allow recovery to take place.
Highways England said at the time:
‘The M1 northbound J23A / Donington Park Services (A453 EastMidlandsAirport A50 Stoke A6 Derby) to J24 (A50 Derby A453 Nottingham) 3 lanes have been closed due to a collision. Traffic Officers are currently at scene, Recovery are on their way to assist.’
