Three Nottingham police raids recover drugs, cash and mobile phones

Drugs, cash and mobile phones were recovered and suspects arrested during three coordinated morning raids by police in Hucknall.

Officers gained entry to addresses in Minerva Grove, Salterford Road, Centurian Close at around 8.45am on Tuesday.

The intelligence-led raids were part of an ongoing investigation into the supply of illegal drugs.

After searching the Minerva Grove address officers’ attention was drawn to a van and a car parked outside. After gaining entry to the vehicles they found a quantity of cash and eight small deal bags of what is believed to be cocaine.

A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing a class A drug with intent to supply. He has since been released under investigation..

Sergeant Colin Morley, from the Ashfield neighbourhood team, said: “We know that drug-related crime has a significant impact on our communities – from the individuals whose lives are damaged by addiction to the knock-on impact of associated violence and other linked offending.

“This operation was planned in response to community intelligence and I hope will send a very clear message to people who are involved with the illegal trade in drugs. We may know more about your activities than you think and we could be paying you an early morning visit in the near future.

“So, if you are concerned about drug-related crime in your community please call us on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
