Three USAF F-15 Strike Eagles over Nottingham

The aircraft flew over West Bridgford at 14:30 today 16 June

This has been a regular sight and sound all year – on many fine weather days the aircraft travel to and loop from Mildenhall and Lakenheath over the East Midlands to Wales.

The photos all show the same aircraft at different zoom levels – but it’s difficult to get clear images because of the haze and being at full 80 x optical zoom!

There’s no suggestion this has anything to do with the conflict in Ukraine, it is a regular occurrence.

There were three but it was impossible to get them all in the same shot unfortunately because of the sun.

There was no transponder signal picked up on Flightradar24 – there often is…

The F-15E Strike Eagle is a dual-role fighter designed to perform air-to-air and air-to-ground missions. An array of avionics and electronics systems gives the F-15E the capability to fight at low altitude, day or night and in all weather.
