Oliver and Olivia have been the most popular baby names that have been registered by Nottinghamshire County Council’s Registration service in the last 12 months.
The Council registers thousands of babies each year and carries out many personalised naming ceremonies for residents wanting to celebrate the birth of their child.
Newcomers to the top ten inspired by celebrities include Harper (David and Victoria Beckham’s daughter) and Charlotte (Duke and Duchess of Norfolk’s daughter), whilst Royal inspired names such as Harry and George continue to remain popular boy’s names.
More unusual names such as Teddy (ranked 20) and Seth (ranked 26) are also gaining popularity for boys.
The top tens are as follows:
7. Isabella and Ava
9. Harper, Grace and Ellie
Councillor John Cottee, Chairman of the Communities and Place Committee, said: “For the first time we have the similar Oliver and Olivia both in the top spots for the most popular baby names in Nottinghamshire.
“Names given to babies of celebrities and the Royal family continue to hold favour in the two top tens along with 1920s styles names such as Evie, Ava and Jack.”
