There are three miles of queues behind the incident.
National Highways said:
‘The A42 is blocked southbound between the M1 and the A511 near Ashby-de-la-Zouch due to a trailer fire.
‘Leicestershire Fire and Rescue crews are at the scene.
‘There is approximately 3 miles of congestion on the approach to the incident.’
