Tram and lorry crash in Nottingham

A tram and a lorry have have been involved in a collision near the Phoenix Park tram stop.

It happened shortly before 10am today, Tuesday August 7, and services from the stop have been suspended so that the incident can be dealt with.

A spokesman for Nottingham Express Transit said: “There were no injuries. We can confirm a collision between a lorry and a tram at about 10am this morning.

“Emergency services are currently on the site. A shuttle bus is now in operation between Bulwell and Phoenix Park and buses are accepting tram tickets while we work as quickly as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience.

“An investigation in to the incident is ongoing so we cannot comment any further.”

Adding, ‘There is no service to Phoenix Park due to a road traffic collision.

Trams for Phoenix Park will continue from Highbury Vale to Bulwell and will return from Bulwell to Clifton South.

A shuttle bus has been provided to travel from Bulwell bus station at the stop near the toilets to Phoenix Park.
