Tram network maintenance will be taking place for four nights next month.
Taking place from 4 August to 7 August, there will be no trams between Wilkinson Street and The Forest each evening from 10:00pm until the end of service at midnight. Service will resume from 8 August, when the work is expected to be completed.
To minimise disruption, a replacement bus service will be operating between The Forest Park & Ride site, and Wilkinson Street Park and Ride site.
Customers are being encouraged to allow extra time and check affected routes before travelling.
Trevor Stocker, head of operations and safety at NET, said: “These essential improvements are necessary to ensure our network can remain safe and reliable for our customers.
“By undertaking this work during the night, we are hoping to reduce the impact on customers. For anyone who regularly relies on travelling via any of our tram stops that will be closed during this time, we encourage them to visit the dedicated maintenance page on our website, or contact us through our online customer service portal if they have any questions.

Closed tram stops
Work taking place on Monday 4th August 2025 to Thursday 7th August 2025
Normal service to resume Friday 8th August 2025
The following tram stops will remain closed between 22:00 and midnight during the above dates:
- Shipstone Street
- Radford Road
- Hyson Green Market
- Noel Street
- Beaconsfield Street
Due to road closures along Radford Road, the replacement bus will not be servicing the above stops. Customers are advised to use the tram services from Wilkinson Street towards Hucknall and Phoenix Park, or The Forest towards Clifton South and Toton Lane. If it’s easier, head to the nearest park and ride to use the replacement bus service between each car park.
Timetable and final trams
During the above dates, we will be operating with the temporary timetable we currently have in place. Tram services between 9 pm and the end of service operate every 15 minutes. For more information on our temporary timetable, please click here.
The replacement bus service will end at midnight, and the final tram services departing from Clifton South towards Phoenix Park and Toton Lane towards Hucknall will operate as normal.

Resident information and Road closures
The work site is located on the corner of Wilkinson Street and Radford Road. Between 22:00 and midnight each night, Radford Road will remain closed between Northgate and Ward Street. Road diversions will be in place. Access remains for businesses and residents, but there is no through route at the junction of Wilkinson Street and Radford Road due to the work taking place.
‘Each night, the work will start at 22:00 and continue until 05:00 the following morning and work will be completed in full at 05:00 on the 8th of August, when tram services will resume as normal.
‘The work will involve breaking out and replacing concrete along the tracks, which may be noisy. The track team will aim to complete any noisy work at the start of each evening, but some noise may be experienced while the work is taking place overnight.
