Trams, traffic and bus disruption continues following burst water main road closure

The road is still closed in Beeston after the incident yesterday where contractors damaged the mains.

Severn Trent Water said at 5 am Wednesday 8 March:

‘Following up from our last update, our engineers continue to work hard to complete the repair however the repairs are proving to be trickier than we first expected.

As previously mentioned our customer’s supplies remain unaffected.’

‘Disruption to services is expected to continue into Wednesday with no services between the University of Nottingham and Toton.

‘NCT Orange buses will be accepting tram tickets and passes. A limited bus service will also travel non-stop between Toton Lane and the University of Nottingham.’

AA Roadwatch:

‘Road closed due to burst water main on B6464 High Road between Audon Avenue and Holly Lane. Detour in operation – for bus service Orange 36.’

Nottingham City Transport said:

‘Due to a burst water main on High Road – Beeston, Orange 36 diverts in both directions via Meadow Lane, Queen’s Road and Station Road.

‘The following stops cannot be served on High Road, including; Collin Street, Wilmot Lane, Bridge Avenue & Cator Lane. Buses towards the City are unable to serve Beeston Interchange.’
