The family of an e-scooter rider who was killed after a collision with a car have paid tribute to a much-loved family man with “a heart as big as they come.”
Scott Catton was riding along Ridgeway, Top Valley, when the incident happened on the evening of Thursday 5 June.
Despite the best efforts of medical staff, the 53-year-old passed away in hospital two days later with his family at his bedside.
Scott’s family said in a statement:
“Scott was a much-loved fiancé, father, stepfather, brother, uncle, and friend to so many.
“He truly was the life and soul of every gathering – whether it was a party, watching the football, or simply enjoying a pint down at the local.
“He loved his sports, but nothing meant more to him than his family and his love for Nottingham Forest – a passion he proudly shared with his son.
“His presence lit up the room, and his laughter was infectious.
“Scott had a heart as big as they come.
“Always the first to offer a helping hand, he made a lasting impact on everyone lucky enough to know him.
“His passing has left a huge hole in our hearts, but the love, memories, and laughter he gave us will live on forever.”
An investigation into what happened is continuing.
