Two men have been arrested following a suspected firearms discharge in Bilborough.
Officers from Nottinghamshire Police were called at around 6.25pm today (10 October) about a disturbance in Burnside Road in Bilborough, Nottingham, where it was reported that a gun was fired.
Officers were quickly on the scene and two men have been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. There have been no reports of any injuries.
Detective Inspector Stuart Temple, who is investigating, said: “Incidents such as this one understandably cause concern in the community, but I hope the swift action of our officers serves to reassure people.
“There is a large police presence in the area and our enquiries into what happened are already well underway.
“Nottinghamshire Police takes the use of illegal firearms extremely seriously and local people can rest assured that we will leave no stone unturned in this investigation.”
