Two arrested after drugs and cash found as police stop car in Nottingham

They found several bags of suspected drugs and cash.

Two men have been arrested after officers found class A and B drugs.

The discovery was made after police pulled over a car in Boden Street, Radford, at around 6.20pm on 18 September 2021.

Officers smelled cannabis and so searched the driver.

They found several bags of suspected drugs and cash and arrested the 21-year-old man on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs.

When officers later attended the home address of the suspect, they discovered further items of drug paraphernalia and suspected class A and B drugs. A second man, aged 20, who was at the property was then also arrested on suspicion of drug offences.

Both men have been released under investigation for further enquires.

Detective Inspector Daniel Johnstone, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We understand concerns that communities have when it comes to drugs activity.

“We want to reassure them that we are dedicated to tackling this and any reports of such activity will be thoroughly investigated.

“Possession of drugs can often be linked or lead to further criminal activity and so it is important for us to intercept this and respond to reports at the earliest opportunity.

“Enquires into this matter are still ongoing and anyone with information on this incident is asked to call 101, quoting incident 693 of 18 September 2021.”
