Two arrests after crack cocaine and heroin found in Meadows raid

Two people have been arrested after police found supplies of heroin and crack cocaine during a house raid.

The Class A drugs were discovered in a bathroom bin, while a knife and cash were also seized in Phoenix Close, The Meadows.

A 38-year-old man and a 14-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, after officers from the city south Operation Reacher team carried out the search warrant on Saturday (29 January).

Both suspects have been released under investigation, while police carry out further forensic work.

Inspector Karl Thomas, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “I’d like to commend officers from our Operation Reacher team for ensuring a quantity of dangerous Class A drugs have been taken off our streets.

“It is absolutely essential that we continue to act on any intelligence we receive and take immediate, front-foot action against anyone who is selling drugs in our communities.

“Drugs activity is often linked to wider serious organised criminality and can result in vulnerable people being preyed upon and exploited for the gain of others, so carrying out warrants such as this are an extremely important tool to help us maintain the upper hand against these criminals.”

Anyone who suspects drug dealing in their neighbourhoods is urged to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101.
