Two bailed in Nottingham cinema stabbing investigation

Officers arrested a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of possession of a bladed article and causing grievous bodily harm.

Two people arrested in connection with a stabbing have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Nottinghamshire Police was called to Cineworld at around 8.15pm on Sunday 1 December to reports of a fight in the cinema complex.

A 20-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that were not life-threatening. He has now been released and is expected to make a full recovery.

Officers arrested a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of possession of a bladed article and causing grievous bodily harm.

A 23-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article.

Both have now been questioned and released on police bail as the investigation continues.

Detective Inspector Daniel Johnstone, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We are continuing to speak to witnesses and review CCTV in the area and would urge anyone who saw the disturbance who hasn’t already come forward to call us as soon as possible.”
