Two charged after man found injured in Nottingham city centre


Police have charged two men in connection with an incident in Long Row, Nottingham, yesterday morning (Saturday 25 May 2019).

A man was found lying on the floor with head injuries at about 4.30am. Two men are believed to have stolen items from the victim.

The 54-year-old victim was taken to hospital.

His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Mohamed Benchaba, 27, of no fixed address, has been charged with theft and possession of Class A drugs. He has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday (27 May 2019).

Sadaq Ali Sujaac, 25, of Fast Pits Road, Birmingham, has been charged with theft. He has been released on unconditional bail and is set to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on 21 June 2019.

Officers are continuing to investigate the circumstances and how the victim sustained his injuries and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to get in touch. Our enquiries are ongoing, including checking CCTV.
