Two in court after street fight in St Ann’s

Two men have appeared in court after a man was injured during a fight in the middle of a street.

Officers were called to Well Road, St Ann’s, just after 4.05pm, on Friday 11 November after receiving reports of an incident between a group of people.

Christopher Gerald, aged 27, of Hungerhill Road, St Ann’s, has been charged with affray and possession of an offensive weapon in public.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 12 December.

Twenty-five-year-old Ramone Campbell, of Rose Close, St Ann’s, has also been charged with affray, possession of a bladed article in a public place and two counts of assault an emergency worker.

Detective Constable Gemma Piggott, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “I am pleased to say we have now charged two suspects in relation to this.

“Our officers at the time were on scene within minutes and thanks to their quick response and investigative work we were able to quickly arrest and detain two men.

“Inquiries into this remain ongoing and our officers are continuing to carry out CCTV inquiries and speak with witnesses so we can piece together exactly what happened.

“I want to reiterate once again that anyone who may have seen the incident, has any information or CCTV or mobile phone footage to get in touch with us by calling 101, quoting incident number 457 of 11 November 2022, or calling Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
