Two men have been locked up for a combined seven years and eight months after a man was repeatedly stabbed.
The victim was brutally attacked after letting the pair into his home in Hyson Green.
He needed emergency surgery after suffering injuries to his chest, abdomen, back, hand and leg.
Police officers arrived within minutes and administered first aid.
They packed his chest wound with a gauze and checked for other injuries before paramedics arrived and took him to hospital.
The victim had earlier invited 19-year-old Friras Al Jalam and 21-year-old Adrian Polok into his home at around 2.30pm on 10 June 2021.
They were talking in his room but Polok and Al Jalam became aggressive towards him when he asked them to leave.
He was threatened and stabbed with a knife and Al Jalam took some of his personal property, including cash, before a struggle ensued.
After the offenders had left his room, the victim tackled them again in the hallway and outside his home in Belper Road.
He grabbed hold of Polok who stabbed him multiple times on the pavement.
The victim still tried to go after the pair but went back to his address after feeling severe pain to his chest.
Following extensive enquiries Al Jalam and Polok were arrested and subsequently charged with offences. They appeared at Nottingham Crown Court today (Friday 1 April 2022) for sentencing.
Al Jalam, of Byfield Close, Radford, pleaded guilty to robbery and possession of a knife in a public place. He was also found guilty of wounding with intent.
He was jailed for four years and one month.
Polok, of Alfreton Road, Radford, pleaded guilty to wounding with intent and possession of a knife in a public place. He was also found guilty of robbery.
He was locked up for three years and seven months.
Detective Constable Louise Fowkes, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was an offence of extreme violence in a private dwelling and public place where a large combat-style knife was used to repeatedly stab the victim causing serious injuries that required emergency surgery.
“The victim invited Pollack and Al Jalam into his room without ever suspecting he was ever going to be brutally attacked.
“Without warning they turned violently on the victim who was threatened and had a knife put to his face before being robbed of items.
“The violence continued in the hallway and outside where the victim sustained multiple stab wounds.
“Given the severity of the violence and injuries inflicted I am pleased that these dangerous offenders have been removed from the streets and handed lengthy prison sentences for their crimes.
“Nottinghamshire Police treats all reports of knife crime and violence extremely seriously and the force continues its efforts to target those carrying knives as well as working with partners to educate people about the risks and harm caused by carrying knives to prevent incidents from happening in the first place.
“We remain committed to driving down knife crime even further in our communities and we will continue to work tirelessly to remove dangerous weapons off our streets and take robust action against anyone believed to be involved in violent crime.”
