Two men have been convicted following a series of burglaries at a student housing complex.
Nottinghamshire Police investigated five burglaries committed at the address in Player Street, Radford, between 13 and 20 July 2021.
Stolen items included a television, digital video recorder, microwave, vacuum cleaner and a wooden table.
Following enquiries officers arrested two men on Monday (2 August 2021).
A 52-year-old man and a 50-year-old man appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court yesterday charged with burglary.
One pleaded guilty to five counts of burglary and the other to two counts.
They were both remanded in custody and will appear at Nottingham Crown Court for sentencing on 24 August 2021.
The latest national statistics show that burglaries in Nottinghamshire plummeted by 34 per cent in the year to April 2021.
Nottinghamshire Police treats burglary seriously and has two specialist burglary teams, consisting of detectives who are dedicated to tackling this type of crime who have helped drive down the number of burglaries across the force area.
Detective Constable Dave Thornton, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We understand how distressing burglaries can be and are committed to putting suspects before the court at the earliest opportunity.
“As part of our preventative work we continue to carry out targeted patrols in hotspot areas for burglaries to further reduce the number of offences as well as sharing crime prevention advice.”
