Good Samaritans who rushed to help an injured biker and pillion passenger are being urged to come forward and speak to officers.
At around 12.45pm on Good Friday, a white Honda motorbike collided with a red Vauxhall Corsa in Cotmanhay Road before it hit a lamppost.
One man suffered very serious leg injuries while the other man sustained significant back and pelvis injuries.
