Officers from Nottinghamshire Police arrested two men in Radford on Friday (18 October 2019) who were wanted for deportation.

Officers from the Foreign National Offending Team worked alongside a Romanian police officer who is working in Nottinghamshire to help tackle this type of crime.

The men were dealt with by the Home Office’s Immigration Enforcement Team and are now being held in a detention centre, awaiting deportation to Romania.

Both men were wanted for deportation due to previous offences committed in Romania.

Sergeant Tim Cuthbert said: “The Foreign National Offending team works very closely with the Home Office, to identify and remove people who stay here illegally to commit crime and cause harm.

“We continue to focus on people who we believe pose a risk to the public, and will use all tactics available to us to remove foreign offenders and keep people safe.”
