Nottingham University Hospitals announced the news today Tuesday 5 May.

Dr Keith Girling, Medical Director at Nottingham University Hospitals said: “Sadly we can confirm that a further two patients have died having tested positive for COVID-19.

“Regrettably that means that 221 COVID-19 positive patients we were caring for have sadly died since the beginning of March.”

“The patients were aged 82 and 85, and died on the 1st and 3rd of May respectively.”

“The families have been informed and our thoughts and condolences are with them at this difficult and distressing time.”
