Two taken to hospital after street fight in Nottingham

Police investigating reports of a fight have made two arrests.

Officers were called to Independent Street in Radford at around 4.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 22 June 2022) after reports a group of men had been fighting in the area.

One man was taken to hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening or life-altering. A second man was later taken to hospital having been injured in the same incident but then fleeing the scene.

Following enquires, two men aged 30 and 35 were arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and affray.

Detective Sergeant Simon Carter, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “While the investigation is in its early stages, we have made good progress and two men have now been arrested in relation to this incident.

“Violent crime will simply not be tolerated and I would urge anyone with information about this incident, who is yet to speak to officers, to please come forward.”
