Two teenagers arrested after man assaulted in a Nottingham street

Police responding to a report of a man being attacked by a group of people have arrested two suspects as part of their enquiries.

Officers were called to Bridlington Street in Nottingham at around 8am yesterday after a group of people were seen attacking a man.

The man is believed to have had his phone stolen following the assault.

Police quickly arrested two men, age 19 and 21, on suspicion of robbery in connection with the incident.

A mobile phone was also recovered following a search.

Detectives are now appealing for anyone who may have information on what happened to come forward.

Detective Inspector Daniel Johnstone, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a vicious attack that has left the victim understandably shaken.

“Thankfully, the man was not seriously injured in the incident but whenever violence is used there is always the possibility for dangerous consequences.

“We are pleased to have made two arrests as part of our initial enquiries but it is early days in our investigation.

“I’d now ask for anyone who may have witnessed this incident or have any CCTV footage in the area to get in touch with Nottinghamshire Police as soon as possible on 101 quoting incident number 155 of 21 July 2021.”
