Police are warning owners of plant machinery to be alert after two large vehicles were reported stolen within hours of each other.
Officers are investigating the theft of two dumper truck style vehicles from local building sites and believe the two cases may be linked.
One of the thefts was reported from a building site in Edwinstowe High Street that occurred at some point between 5pm on Thursday 3 September and 7.15am the following morning.
The other took place at a site Leeming Lane North, Mansfield Woodhouse, between 6pm on Thursday and 6am the following morning.
PC Mick Colley, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We are currently working on the assumption that these two incidents are linked to each other and would like to issue a warning to people who either own or have rented plant machinery to pay particular attention to their site security.
“We are currently looking for two large yellow dumper trucks and would like to appeal to anybody who may have seen them on the move overnight on Thursday. These are very valuable pieces of equipment and we are eager to return them to their owners.”
If you have any information that may help locate these vehicles then please call police quoting incident number 80 of 4 September.
