Cases

A confirmed case is someone who has tested positive for coronavirus.

84,053 new people had a confirmed positive test result reported on 4 February 2022.

Between 29 January 2022 and 4 February 2022, 614,720 people had a confirmed positive test result. This shows a decrease of -2.4% compared to the previous 7 days.

Vaccinations

Vaccines are currently given in 3 doses.

52,399,031 people had been given a first dose by the end of 3 February 2022.

48,520,513 people had been given a second dose by the end of 3 February 2022.

37,458,017 people had been given a booster or third dose by the end of 3 February 2022.

Healthcare

Some people with coronavirus have to go into hospital.

1,596 people with coronavirus went into hospital on 31 January 2022.

Between 25 January 2022 and 31 January 2022, 11,214 went into hospital with coronavirus. This shows a decrease of -8.7% compared to the previous 7 days.

There were 14,634 patients in hospital with coronavirus on 3 February 2022.

Some people in the hospital need to use a special device called a mechanical ventilator to help them breathe.

There were 478 coronavirus patients in hospital beds with a mechanical ventilator on 3 February 2022.

Deaths

There were 254 deaths within 28 days of a positive test for coronavirus reported on 4 February 2022.

Between 29 January 2022 and 4 February 2022, there have been 1,766 deaths within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test. This shows a decrease of -3.4% compared to the previous 7 days.
