From the week of 21 February 2022, the UK Health Security Agency stopped publishing dashboard updates at weekends.
The dashboard is updated daily from Monday to Friday. Daily cases and deaths by report date published on Mondays include figures from the preceding weekend. These will not be separated out to show daily figures for Saturday and Sunday. Cases by specimen date and deaths by date of death are separated out for each day.
Between 22 February 2022 and 28 February 2022, there have been 4,465,391 tests. This shows a decrease of -19.8% compared to the previous 7 days.
Cases
A confirmed case is someone who has tested positive for coronavirus.
Between 23 February 2022 and 1 March 2022, 231,973 people had a confirmed positive test result. This shows a decrease of -23.7% compared to the previous 7 days.
Vaccinations
Vaccines are currently given in 3 doses.
52,634,448 people had been given a first dose by the end of 28 February 2022.
49,014,524 people had been given a second dose by the end of 28 February 2022.
38,235,339 people had been given a booster or third dose by the end of 28 February 2022.
Healthcare
Some people with coronavirus have to go into hospital.
Between 19 February 2022 and 25 February 2022, 7,709 went into hospital with coronavirus. This shows a decrease of -8.7% compared to the previous 7 days.
There were 10,551 patients in hospital with coronavirus on 27 February 2022.
Some people in the hospital need to use a special device called a mechanical ventilator to help them breathe.
There were 290 coronavirus patients in hospital beds with a mechanical ventilator on 28 February 2022.
Deaths
Between 23 February 2022 and 1 March 2022, there have been 741 deaths within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test. This shows a decrease of -24.1% compared to the previous 7 days.
