There were 1,114,234 tests reported on 8 July 2021. This shows an increase of 3.6% compared to the previous 7 days.

Between 2 July 2021 and 8 July 2021, there have been 7,294,129 tests.

Cases

A confirmed case is someone who has tested positive for coronavirus.

31,772 new people had a confirmed positive test result reported on 11 July 2021.

Between 5 July 2021 and 11 July 2021, 221,052 people had a confirmed positive test result. This shows an increase of 27.3% compared to the previous 7 days.

Vaccinations

Vaccines are currently given in 2 doses, at least 21 days apart.

45,881,721 people had been given a first dose by the end of 10 July 2021.

34,764,511 people had been given a second dose by the end of 10 July 2021.

Healthcare

Some people with coronavirus have to go into hospital.

563 people with coronavirus went into hospital on 6 July 2021.

Between 30 June 2021 and 6 July 2021, 3,081 went into hospital with coronavirus. This shows an increase of 56.6% compared to the previous 7 days.

There were 2,731 patients in hospital with coronavirus on 8 July 2021.

Some people in the hospital need to use a special device called a mechanical ventilator to help them breathe.

There were 417 coronavirus patients in hospital beds with a mechanical ventilator on 8 July 2021.

Deaths

There were 26 deaths within 28 days of a positive test for coronavirus reported on 11 July 2021.

Between 5 July 2021 and 11 July 2021, there have been 203 deaths within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test. This shows an increase of 66.4% compared to the previous 7 days.
