Tests

Between 4 March 2022 and 10 March 2022, there have been 4,553,814 tests. This shows an increase of 4.6% compared to the previous 7 days.

Cases

A confirmed case is someone who has tested positive for coronavirus.

Between 5 March 2022 and 11 March 2022, 399,820 people had a confirmed positive test result. This shows an increase of 56.3% compared to the previous 7 days.

Vaccinations

Vaccines are currently given in 3 doses.

52,692,089 people had been given a first dose by the end of 10 March 2022.

49,164,620 people had been given a second dose by the end of 10 March 2022.

38,458,430 people had been given a booster or third dose by the end of 10 March 2022.

Healthcare

Some people with coronavirus have to go into hospital.

Between 1 March 2022 and 7 March 2022, 9,475 went into hospital with coronavirus. This shows an increase of 16.9% compared to the previous 7 days.

There were 11,944 patients in hospital with coronavirus on 10 March 2022.

Some people in the hospital need to use a special device called a mechanical ventilator to help them breathe.

There were 253 coronavirus patients in hospital beds with a mechanical ventilator on 10 March 2022.

Deaths

Between 5 March 2022 and 11 March 2022, there have been 730 deaths within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test. This shows an increase of 2.8% compared to the previous 7 days.
