Testing
Testing is where we do a test to see who has coronavirus. Some people are tested more than once.
There were 945,090 tests reported on 10 June 2021. This shows an increase of 29.0% compared to the previous 7 days.
Between 4 June 2021 and 10 June 2021, there have been 6,088,413 tests.
Cases
A confirmed case is someone who has tested positive for coronavirus.
7,738 new people had a confirmed positive test result reported on 12 June 2021.
Between 6 June 2021 and 12 June 2021, 47,868 people had a confirmed positive test result. This shows an increase of 52.5% compared to the previous 7 days.
Vaccinations
Vaccines are currently given in 2 doses, at least 21 days apart.
41,291,331 people had been given a first dose by the end of 11 June 2021.
29,450,653 people had been given a second dose by the end of 11 June 2021.
Healthcare
Some people with coronavirus have to go into hospital.
187 people with coronavirus went into hospital on 8 June 2021.
Between 2 June 2021 and 8 June 2021, 1,008 went into hospital with coronavirus. This shows an increase of 15.2% compared to the previous 7 days.
There were 1,089 patients in hospital with coronavirus on 10 June 2021.
Some people in the hospital need to use a special device called a mechanical ventilator to help them breathe.
There were 158 coronavirus patients in hospital beds with a mechanical ventilator on 10 June 2021.
Deaths
There were 12 deaths within 28 days of a positive test for coronavirus reported on 12 June 2021.
