No update to cases, deaths, tests, hospital admissions and vaccination data from Scotland
Due to a technical issue, Public Health Scotland (PHS) has been unable to provide updated data on cases, deaths, tests, hospital admissions and vaccinations. PHS are working to resolve this and hope to return to normal reporting tomorrow (15 March). UK totals therefore only include updates from England, Northern Ireland and Wales.
Tests
Between 7 March 2022 and 13 March 2022, there have been 4,700,714 tests. This shows an increase of 7.4% compared to the previous 7 days.
Cases
A confirmed case is someone who has tested positive for coronavirus.
Between 8 March 2022 and 14 March 2022, 444,201 people had a confirmed positive test result. This shows an increase of 48.1% compared to the previous 7 days.
Vaccinations
Vaccines are currently given in 3 doses.
52,708,425 people had been given a first dose by the end of 13 March 2022.
49,209,241 people had been given a second dose by the end of 13 March 2022.
38,513,136 people had been given a booster or third dose by the end of 13 March 2022.
Healthcare
Some people with coronavirus have to go into hospital.
Between 1 March 2022 and 7 March 2022, 9,475 went into hospital with coronavirus. This shows an increase of 16.9% compared to the previous 7 days.
There were 11,944 patients in hospital with coronavirus on 10 March 2022.
Some people in the hospital need to use a special device called a mechanical ventilator to help them breathe.
There were 254 coronavirus patients in hospital beds with a mechanical ventilator on 11 March 2022.
Deaths
Between 8 March 2022 and 14 March 2022, there have been 726 deaths within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test. This shows an increase of 2.1% compared to the previous 7 days.
