Testing
Testing is where we do a test to see who has coronavirus. Some people are tested more than once.
There were 930,123 tests reported on 14 June 2021. This shows an increase of 6.3% compared to the previous 7 days.
Between 8 June 2021 and 14 June 2021, there have been 6,011,171 tests.
Cases
A confirmed case is someone who has tested positive for coronavirus.
7,673 new people had a confirmed positive test result reported on 15 June 2021.
Between 9 June 2021 and 15 June 2021, 53,701 people had a confirmed positive test result. This shows an increase of 38.8% compared to the previous 7 days.
Vaccinations
Vaccines are currently given in 2 doses, at least 21 days apart.
41,831,056 people had been given a first dose by the end of 14 June 2021.
30,209,707 people had been given a second dose by the end of 14 June 2021.
Healthcare
Some people with coronavirus have to go into hospital.
184 people with coronavirus went into hospital on 9 June 2021.
Between 3 June 2021 and 9 June 2021, 1,067 went into hospital with coronavirus. This shows an increase of 22.1% compared to the previous 7 days.
There were 1,136 patients in hospital with coronavirus on 13 June 2021.
Some people in the hospital need to use a special device called a mechanical ventilator to help them breathe.
There were 188 coronavirus patients in hospital beds with a mechanical ventilator on 14 June 2021.
Deaths
There were 10 deaths within 28 days of a positive test for coronavirus reported on 15 June 2021.
Between 9 June 2021 and 15 June 2021, there have been 63 deaths within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test. This shows a decrease of -12.5% compared to the previous 7 days.
